What do the planets mean in astrology?

In Western (or Tropical) Astrology, we consider the 11 celestial bodies found in the solar system to be planets – this includes the Moon, Pluto, and Chiron. This comes from ancient times: the ancient Greek astronomers, when observing the sky, realized that certain celestial objects did not remain fixed like others. They called these objects asteres planetai (wandering stars).

In astrology, the planets correspond to different aspects of the Self in the same way as the head, the torso, the hands, etc., correspond to different parts of the physical body. The way the planets are expressed depends on their sign. The area of life where they are activated depends on the astrological house where we find them.
